After playing electric for over 2 years now I'm interested in buying my first acoustic. It needs to be £300 or less, 6 string and fairly robust. I'd like an acoustic that I can take with me when I'm away, but I would also like to begin to learn some proper acoustic guitar. So help which models are best and a point in the right direction would be much appreciated.
the fg700 and fg730 from yamaha are 2 very good reasonably priced solid top guitars. if you have access to the seagull s6, it's an excellent guitar, and also a very good value. other brands to consider are cort and art & lutherie. fender makes some decent solid tops - my favorite is the tim armstrong hellcat - but i wouldn't recommend the all laminate fenders, smaller models or the ones with electric guitar headstocks.

I just looked in my Oxford English Dictionary and under "Acoustic Guitar", there was your Avatar and an email address!
