Would you consider Guitar Fetish a reputable company to order guitar parts from? I have never ordered from them before, but some of their descriptions seemed a little off to me (bad grammar etc.) I was looking into getting some parts for a strat build (pups, pickguard, tuners etc.) but started getting a bit suspicious after browsing the site a bit.

Guitarfetish is good. The descriptions are terrible but the product is good.

Since you live in Vancouver, expect 1-2 weeks for shipping though. For some reason every time I've order from Guitarfetish, it took approximately week to arrive even using EMS Express.
I live in Kelowna by the way.

I ordered tuners from the before. They held up fine, they werent brand name like Shaller, or Grover but they did what they were supposed to do. Ive heard mixed reviews on their pickups though. The professional series they have is little suspicious. $75 for a set of handwound strat pups, w/ formvar wire w/ vintage spec. super deal or super scam.. ?

I got their Jimi Hendrix set, 3 new pots, a new switch, and a new jack for my Squier Bullet. I'm about to order more from them. Great stuff, with the new electronics it sounds better than a MIM Fender Strat. I did have a problem with the pickup covers. They didn't fit the stock pickups or the replacements. And they didn't look like they were spaced right for any pickups. Also, the $25 Strat tremolo is basically the same thing as the stock one but with vintage style saddles so I sent it back. But I've heard good things about their more expensive (but still cheap) bridges.

i just ordered a bunch of stuff from them! tuners, bridges, and pups. all of it seems to be good quality for the price but i havnt wired the pups yet but if your interested ill definitely let you know how they sound once installed. i got to normal gold humbuckers and a lipstick humbucker (i dont care whether it sounds good or not this thing looks cool as hell imo)

They're a legit site, that's for sure. I've bought a lot of things from them. I've liked the normal humbucker and lipstick pickups I've got from them, but the Tru-Coil and Lil' Killer I don't care for. I liked the Lil' Killer when I was going for that sort of thing though, I'm just after a normal strat sound these days. Also, the bridge I got from them is solid and the pickguard is of standard quality. The neck is questionable, it will need some fretwork to be right.

I have bought pickups, electronics, and hardware from them. You just have to use common sense. Their stuff isnt always really an upgrade, but their wilkinson stuff may be. I kept my strat bridge but got their brass block for it. Worked like a charm. But it need an american strat trem arm, so i got one with it, and it bent in a few uses. so i bought a legit fender one from guitar center and it works fine.

Their known for thei pickups, and they do have some great ones. I got the 60s repro single coils which are pretty much the jimi hendrix pickups without the wierd pole pieces, and a 59 paf. Awesome pickups and a versatile combination for blues and classic rock.

They're a legitimate site. The descriptions are cheesy, but the product they sell is generally good. Their hardware and pickups aren't top of the line by any means, but for the price they're hard to beat. I've got a GFS Fat Pat and a '59 waiting to be put in a build of mine.

Guitar Fetish is awesome. Dream 180 (n) Mini Bucker (b) Pro Series Alnico II Bucker (n) Pro Series Alnico V (b) All great. Don't buy gold hardware though. The gold rubs right off.
edit: Rollers are good from them.

Depends, I don't know what pickups go good with plywood. EMGs will make it sound like every other EMG guitar though.

Actually, the gold tuners ("schaller" locking) and the gold roller bridge I bought from them are holding up great; after about a year it has no apparent wear at all. Way better than the stock gold roller bridge that came on my AF75TDG, which IS rubbing off a month or two after I bought it.

Of course, it is possible I just got lucky.

Any word on their necks? I bought one of their Xaviere guitars - the hardware is good, and the pickups, surprisingly excellent, but the neck is just atrocious. The fret job done on it is appalling and the neck is set so low (or improperly angled) that the action is too high to play properly.

This aside, ive been looking at their tele necks... and have been considering one for a new project. Worth the money?

My buddy has a gold GFS Heavy Duty. Not as responsive as a real Floyd, but looks pretty and hasn't broken yet! I've only used it once, so I that's as much as I remember.

I suspect the GFS bodies are kind of cheap because they are made of paulownia wood, which is a light, somewhat soft wood. I've got a Dean Vendetta made from that. Sounds OK, but almost feels like balsa wood sometimes

Or because they are made from otherwise cheaper material woods...

Bought some stuff there, the only problem with mine was I am working on a LP copy and the backplate size is way off. The LP backplate is way bigger so I have to cut it down because I still want the cream color .

IMO Guitar fetish make very low quality products which is reflected by the price. There is nothing "good" about them. If you are trying to go from the cheap low output pickups that a stock guitar came with to a solid high output tone without spending a lot of money then GFS is a good option. They get the job done. If you have crappy low output pickups and want to upgrade your low output tone then don't go with gfs. They are not an upgrade from anything. They are simply an affordable way to get from a certain type of sound to another.

I have ordered a lot of things from them, almost all of it is good. I have a set of their Vintage 59 humbuckers in my Agile LP copy, I gig with that guitar. The only thing I had issues with is their basic cables, the jacks are good but on two of them the cable itself developed a break somewhere inside so they are no unusable. The did RMA them, however.

BTW, they had a nice SG copy under their Xaviere brand a few months back, now it seems to be gone. Anyone know anything about it?

I ordered from Guitar Fetish for the first time a few weeks ago. orders some pots, wire switches and a pickguard for a strat build I was working on. Got my stuff in two days and couldn't have been more happier with the products.

forgive any spelling and grammer errors. I'm extremely tired. i'm getting ready for bed and can hardly keep my eyes open.

my room mate swapped their humbucker sized P-90's into his Gibson SG and it sounds amazing, so i wouldn't say they are not high quality. It sounds better than Gibby's SG classic or w/e sg with p-90's. I'd say they're on par with Duncans and Dimarzio's from my limited experience with them. I replaced some stock pickups on an Agile with their PAF's and it sounded awesome. So, maybe you're biased since you wind pickups like your avatar says

Ok, I've got some experience with GuitarFetish.com

I bought a new tone block from them a few weeks ago, It was excellent. The Accompanying Tremolo bar, not so much, or so I thought.

I contacted them and complained that the bar bent within a couple days of beginning to use it. Given the price, I expected them to blow me off or give me some sort of run around about shipping or sending it back first.

There was no run around, they responded promptly and sent out a replacement immediately and without charge.

Now, here's the kicker, I think, I'm not sure, but I think the failure of the arm was my fault.

I just ordered more parts from them, they have a customer for life.

They're great, except their postage costs (to Australia, at least) are just insane, often $25-$40, which makes a $25 pickup somewhat less cheap. However their eBay store has much cheaper shipping, which helps.
