ok, kinda a noob question but i have an esp ltd with duncan designed and I want to switch to some active emgs. but the selector switch that came with the guitar has a coil split, and ive heard you cant split normal emgs. So what kind of selector switch do I need to replace it? ive seen 5 way strat types and 3 way tele types and a hole bunch of others. what do I need? thanks

You cant "coil tap" a switch...
A switch is a switch. It can be used for any pickups. The PICKUPS are what get coil tapped. has nothing to do with the switch.

he said he had a coil tap switch, not a switch that was coil tapped.

OP, just use the standard EMG wiring kit

If the guitar currently has a 5 way switch then you will need to change it to a 3 way switch for standard EMGS.

You do not get switches with EMGs you will have to buy one.
