Hey!

Quick question:

I know interval names for the major scale are referred to
1st (or root) , 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th

or
Do Re Mi Fa Sol Li Ti

But there is another popular one isnt there? I cant remember the full thing but I think it was something like:

Root (something)2nd major 3rd suspended4th perfect5th etc

Anyone know how that goes?

Also, other than the first two that I wrote above is there any other popular one that I am missing out on.

Thanks!
Ryan

You mean the generic naming of intervals?

M2, M3, P4, P5, M6, M7, P8?

P - Perfect
M - Major

What you listed didn't actually describe the intervals quality.

musictheory.net is a good website for the fundamental elements of theory. I recommend you give it a look.
