Nicko uses a technique called.... I can't remember. It's called something like heel-toe or something.

SKEDIT: Actually, I think he's just really really good at what he does.
I think the technique I named, is wrong.

Its a little heal toe trick, or he uses a floor tom with the bass. My drummer only uses a single bass, but you'd swear he has a double .

^It is a single pedal. He's only once used doubles, and he didn't like them, and he couldn't use them lol.

That's not fast, check this out, around 2:50, sounds like a small engine idling at 600-700 rpms.

That's basically 16ths at 150 bpm... which is not very fast at all, however he's hitting one of the toms which kind of creates the illusion of another bass drum stroke haha.

Anyway, yeah, Nicko uses a single bass, everyone knows that, and he's fast with one foot. He's using double strokes on the feet, though I don't know whether it's slide or heel toe. It's not as hard as you would think though.

Also, Jojo Mayer and Zach Hill go even faster... somehow...

Been playing drums for a while now and thought i was pretty fast with my foot but how the hell does this guy play this with a single pedal.

5.48

triplets at 175bpm. its crazy

Wait wait wait wait.... Are we talking specifically when the song picks up again at 5:48 and he's doing that funky double pedal sounding beat?

In which case you could use either slide or heel-toe, I use heel-toe and one of my friends uses slide.
It's actually not that difficult, getting the timing down when learning feels a little tricky.

Just to be clear, are we talking about the same beat that comes in at 0:11 in this vid?
