Found this cab in a basement and it looks like it deserves a good rocking. But I just haven't a clue what it is.
I hear it was used as a PA or something but I dunno.
What I really want to know is what kind of head I can run into it.
There is a single hole/input on the back and two mono quarter inch cables coming from the bottom.
The company is Acoustic which was a brand that was made famous by Robby Krieger of The Doors.

Looks like a bass cab, could be a PA cab, though.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

It looks like a late-model (1980 or so) Acoustic 320 amp cabinet (the Model 402), but I can't be certain. If it is a 402, it is a 4-ohm cabinet rated at 140 watts (if memory serves).

You could stick an ohmmeter in there and find out the impedance.

it does look a little different then the normal mid-80's bass cabs. the emblem is on the bottom and you have 2 extra... somethings on either side of the speaker.

i'd crack open the back and see what is in there. most likely it is close to what fatalgear mentioned, looks like a 215b (a descendent of the 402) but the 215b has some kinda port on the bottom (your's doesn't) and the emblem is in a different place. but the aesthetics scream mid-80's.

i have never found anything like that in my basement.

If you could find out what resistance (ohms) and wattage that the cab requires, then you'd be well on your way to running a head through it.

I'd probably use it as a bass cab rather than guitar, but give it a shot.
