This is a song I wrote about people feeding on other peoples sorrow and becoming saddened themselves. Not sure where the inspiration came from. Any critics welcome.

Folk, moderate tempo

A grown man prays
For death to come
A welcoming embrace with
Open arms, you see
A fond farewell
To those he knew
Or a drastic end
For what could have been

Are you happy with the life you’ve made?
Following sorrows like a cavalcade

Take from the earth
To show your faults
The truth becomes stronger
With time, you see
I never meant to harm
But it’s a perfect romance
Side by side we’ll fall
Until one of us cracks

Are you happy with the life you’ve made?
Following sorrows like a cavalcade

Even when you’re right
You feel so wrong
Feels like a crowded corner
Where everyone, you see
Listens in on you
And no one can spare
Sunshine for your day
Just a clouded feeling
