On my Squier VM Jag, the second magnet on the bass side of the P pickup is too high, so, aggressive pick playing makes the E string hit that magnet. Is there a simple fix to this, or must I take it back. I'm past my 30 days, but there has to be some way to fix it, cause its barely a month old. I can't seem to get a decent bass at GC. I had to trade in a VM P bass cause it was jacked up. Anyways, here are some pics.

Try gently tapping it back in with a small hammer or something similar.

...screw down the screw on that side. That's why it's there.

oh--do you mean the actual pole piece? If that's the case my advice remains the same, lower the pup a bit.

OK. Tomorrow, I'll try tapping it in. So, Mike, there's no need to take it in?

I wouldn't think so. Lots of pups have uneven pole pieces. Just crew down that side of the pickup a little further and you probably won't lose any volume.

I didn't want to bring a hammer near the bass. I tapped it in with the handle of a screwdriver. It went in, but now none of it is protruding from the cover. Is that going to pose a problem?

That pole won't be as loud. Hopefully you shouldn't notice a massive difference in volume.

I haven't seen a problem. Is there a way to bring it back up?
