I just checked out the Pain of Salavation record Road Salt One..i think that will be a true classic rock record in years to come. Which other albums in the last few years will become classics?

Foo Fighters - Wasting Light. It's not like their older songs. Every song is different.

Dude, I think I would know, Trivium invented Thrash, Metallica are lucky they got as far as they did piggy-backing off of Trivium's signature style.

Animals as Leaders' selftitled, despite the awful guitar tone.
There's no such thing; there never was. Where I am going you cannot follow me now.

Kurt Rosenwinkel's Deep Song and The Next Step

...modes and scales are still useless.

I can see Avenged sevenfold - Nightmare being a classic.. Maybe

But apart from that, honestly can't think of any
Around my area, a lot of people consider Hybrid Theory to be a classic already, so i guess that has the best shot

Really? Reeeeeeally?

edit:

but also, maybe the arctic monkeys stuff, the way theyre going, not so popular as they were but critically acclaimed none the less!
muse also!

Apart from the A7X thing, I kinda agree with you. I remember listening to Hybrid Theory years ago and it's quite nostalgic to think about.

I can see City of Evil because that album is killer, but not Nightmare.

Symphony X - Odyssey
Opeth - Ghost Reveries
Kamelot - Black Halo
Guthrie Govan - Erotic Cakes
Scar Symmetry - Holographic Universe
The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute

Those come to mind

10,000 Days is mos def going to be a classic, that album was fu c king gold.

Lost In The Sound of Separation by Underoath and pretty much all of Circa Survive's albums are on my mind as well.

GR?

I mean I like the album and all but...

I agree with 10,000 days. City of Evil will be.

People need to understand the difference between liking an album and thinking if it will succeed even in the future.

I really can't think of any that have that lasting feel. Most artists just tend to come about at the start of a trend to try to hop on.

Grinderman 1 and 2 will both be remembered for years to come.

If only because you won't stop talking about them.
The UG Awards exist only to instill me with existential doubt.

For me, the 60's ended that day in 1978...

Willies. Fuck the lick and fuck you too.

I agree that the majority of people feel that way because of all the bullshit related to it, but maybe over time more people will listen to it with an open mind It already has a small cult following.

IMO it has interesting guitar & vocal arrangements and a couple of really good songs, such as "Better".
