im going to be changing the pots in my squier strat. i was probably going with CTS. Im going with 250k also i think. I want a warmer tone. My tone is too bright. i was wondering if anybody had any other suggestions and also do i put the 250k pots in for the volume also?

i would say 250k for tone, 500k for volume, change out the tone cap's with ceramic .044uf tone caps.

250k is usually for active pick-ups and 500k for passive. its really about the pick-up u get. Seymour Duncan!

250k pots are typically found on single coil equipped guitars/most Fenders.

500k pots are normally found on Humbucker, Gibson style guitars.

25k pots are used in Active circuits, due to the output from Active pickups prior to the pre-amp section being very low.
Yeah, now you're gonna die wearing that stupid little hat. How does it feel?

Help me to live.

I make custom guitar wiring harnesses and I'm pretty damn good at it!

My fender strat has 250k in all three spots, but I agree with changing the value of the capacitor...
