My band has written 7 songs, but they are all in the same key and are similar in sound. I want to explore different keys and modes but I always go back to where I feel comfortable. How do I "Step out of the norm"?

Expand your comfort zone. Learn new stuff. Don't worry about it, but instead allow it to happen over time as the result of your efforts.
shred is gaudy music
