What exactly is the tuning used in The Smiths' "This Charming Man" (studio version). I know the live version has standard tuning with capo on second fret, but it is slightly higher than the studiio version. I guess it has to be somewhere between D# and E, but how then do I find it correclty?

I know where you coming from. You're right, it is somewhere between D# and E, but for exact tuning to the cent, I'm not really sure. It is just one of those things where you have to use your ears to get it right. This link is a video to cover which is played in that D#-E tuning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JXayfgb8vw

Also, just as a side note, this guy nails the song and I think its the most correct rendition of the song out there. So if you wanna learn this charming, learn from this cover. I did.
