will phantom power damage a dynamic mic? my interface doesnt have a phantom power switch for each individual input and i want to use a dynamic and condenser at the same time

I don't think so. I'd bad for ribbon mics, but I think dynamics are fine.

Our singer/sound guy tells me that having phantom power on tends to make your setup a little noiser and harder to tame in a live setting? But I can't confirm that myself.

Nope, won't cause any damage to a dynamic mic. It may add a bit of noise but I've never noticed any myself while having phantom power on.
