So i've just heard that apparently some people have managed to email dunlop before , pointing out the picks they like and asking for a sample of 5 or 6 different picks , and actually got it. Anyone here ever done this and had success? I'd like to get some free picks if it's that easy to do.

Also if anyone has done this with other pick companys then post about that too.

edit: since this thread has deviated slightly, just post about getting any free stuff from guitar related companies by hassling them via email or similar. Lets see what stuff you've got too , post pics if you want.

5 or 6 picks is like a dollar... I'd imagine they'd be willing to part with that.

Worth a shot, asking for a sample of different thicknesses etc.

Raijouta, 6 (good branded) picks is like £3 here in london. I steal picks, and after a few years of playing guitar have a mass of about 20 lying around in random places.

Vinni from V-Picks actually sent me a PM on another forum a few weeks ago asking if I wanted to try some. Couldn't say no to the offer

One of these picks is actually ****ing expensive xD One of the metal ones and i read it as 42 dollars per pack of 36, but it's actually 42 dollars per pick.

Hopefully i'm doing all this with such arrogance that no one will care.

They might send you a few random picks, but dont expect a $42 pick for free.

jesus. CHRIST!

Lolz, that's mistake number one. I think at Gravity picks, it's just Chris, he hand makes them at his home, V-Picks is a bigger company, but still hand made.

If you're really that poor, you can get 12 musicians friend brand picks from amazon for $2(with free shipping) they're very good for the price you pay.

Ahh... Lets see where this goes....

Guitars: Fender FSR Standard Strat, Squire Affinity Strat, Epiphone Nighthawk
Amps: Vox AC15C1, Roland Cube 15x, Peavey KB-1
Pedals: Digitech RP355, HD500, Joyo AC-Tone, EHX Soul Food

Just for the record, the majority of guitar picks cost less than 1p (thats UK money, about 2 cents) to produce so they can afford to send them off to people.

Apparently i've shamelessly asked for a 42 dollar brass pick from dunlop. Tbh it's insane that they'd charge that though.
#31
if you order a couple picks from V-Picks they usually throw in some other models to try out. i bought 3 different picks that costed about $4 each and they threw a different model in for free.

Did you tell them they sent the wrong ones? Everybody makes mistakes, it's what you do after the mistake that matters.

Just got an email from Chris from gravity picks saying he'll send me one of the ones i chose in the post. I look foreward to this!
Hope you don't get 3 GC picks. Chris is awesome that way.

But then, you sound like such a huge fanboi, he just might send you the ones you asked!

Win! Win!

72 picks... 1 1/2 years?
Do you just use them once or something?

I've been using the same Jazz III for about a year and its still going strong. A bit worn, but nothing too bad. Then again I use light strings and I don't have a very heavy picking hand.

I got a 3mm Classic Mini from Gravity, its the only pick I use now. It'll probably last forever, unless I lose it And seeing as its bright orange, I don't think thats very likely

Tbh i wasn't expecting to get a reply back from anyone anyway, 3 GC picks would still be something. :P
