I've decided that I'm going to look for a new amp, my TSL has a great sound, but its reliability is starting to bother me so i want to get rid of it, I'm also looking to take my tone up a notch.

One of the amps i was looking at is the Orange TH30, i like the sound and how it reacts to my playing, but I'm in a band and the other guitarist plays a Peavey 6505+, which is a 120 watt amp. Would the Orange be able to keep up with his Peavey? I understand that the clean channel would break up around gig volume, but I'm okay with that.

tl;dr - Will the Orange TH30 be able to keep up with a Peavey 6505 volume wise?

If he isn't way up on the volume, yes, if he cranks it probaly not.

Alright that's awesome, I was debating between this and a Dual Recto, for mid-heavy mid-high gain music, i would assume that this is the better choice.

well a Dual Recto is not what I think of as a Mid heavy amp, that would be more of a Orange/Marshall/Laney thing

I love orange stuff, but seriously?

The two arent even comparable, the DR blows the Th away easily.

I see no stoner of sludge.

even then I would stil rather a Dual Rec, its not comparable to an amp like the the DR. If he was after a rockerverb I would say so, but its not.

the TH30 is still a very nice amp tho, and then he'd have some money left for other stuff

I never said it wasnt, but thats like saying a modeo is better than a ferrari 458 because the mondeo runs on diesel.

Lol i wasnt being specific to the TS.

Im just saying theres things the orange can do better than the DR. So i wouldnt always reccomend it over the TH30.

Id say mid range heavy mid->high gain is more of a strong point of the TH than the recto.

I would becuase if your looking at a dual rec, go for something like a Rocker-verb or Thunder 200

the thunder is after all, a stripped down rockerverb.
