hey UG users,
im going to be building my own 8strings soon and was wondering how long the neck on a 27" scale guitar is
i have been looking every but have had no luck what so ever

There is no set length, its as long as you make it.

If you do a bolt on neck, it will be the length of the fretboard (you can get the fretboard length using a scale calculator) plus the length of the headstock, plus maybe a cm for the end of the fretboard and the width of the nut. That is assuming the heel of the neck ends at the end of the fretboard, you could do an extended neck tenon, which would give you a longer neck. It all depends on how you decide to build it.

You could have a three tenths inch neck, as long as the body makes up the rest of the scale length.

Depends, I don't know what pickups go good with plywood. EMGs will make it sound like every other EMG guitar though.
