Just a quick thread, spending the day with my girlfriend and we want to stay in and watch a couple movies, you guys got any good suggestions? What do you think are the best movies?

No soppy chick flicks please, my girl likes action and comedy just as much as I do (any genre suggestions welcome.)

The Godfather 1,2 and 3. That'll keep you busy.

Girls always like war movies.
Apocalypse Now or Full Metal Jacket.
sometimes I see us in a cymbal splash or in the sound of a car crash

I watched The Mechanic (Statham one) yesterday, and it's pretty good.
Also, Unknown with Liam Neeson; that's a good film.
Green Zone
Source Code
The 2 main Guy Ritchie movies (Lock Stock/Snatch)

I heard The Room is pretty good.

Get him to the greek
Drillbit Taylor
Walk hard

Do not ever see any of the Epic movie/superhero movie/ anything made by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer as it will completely ****ing destroy the part of your brain that handles humor.

American Psycho, No Country for Old Men, Burn After Reading.

You are EXTREMELY WRONG! I have played it. I own an 18W and it would be an awful stereo amp, it's way too bright, breaks up too easily and so on. Secondly, why would a guitar store sell an hifi amp.

You could also do Videodrome, Crash (the Cronenberg film from '96 based on the J.G. Ballard novel, not the overrated '04 film that's entirely unrelated), or Tetsuo: The Iron Man.

Yeah, I'm naming off bizarre and highly disturbing films. I just happen to enjoy bizarre and highly disturbing films.

It's the funniest movie ever if you watch it with Rifftrax.

I found it extremely funny on its own, but now I've got to try this.

Anyway, watch Pulp Fiction.

Crossroads. The only with Ralph Maccio.

Just watched Source Code, cool as ****. Didn't see it all though comp kept freezing. And Memento is one of the coolest movies I've ever seen.

Goodfellas, Saving Private Ryan, Pubic Enemies, Inception, Defiance, Blood Diamond

And this belongs in the Film thread

Transformers.

Keep making comments on how hot Megan Fox is, you'll get her self esteem down and she'll feel really good about being with you. Sex guaranteed.

Good luck, and godspeed.

I'm sure David Lynch has been suggested but anyway.

Baz Luhrman's Romeo and Juliet.

Also, A Serious Man by the Coen brothers.

The thing is the first Troll is actually a pretty good movie. Well made.

Also, since some already suggested the other Guy Ritchie movies, I'll go ahead and say Rock N Rolla too.

EDIT: THE single best scene in Troll 2:

No it isn't. It is the most horrifyingly awful movie to be made, its existence is proof that there is only evil and the world would be better off knowing that there was no "Troll" movie.

Scared me as a kid.
