what are some songs that when you hear them they take you back to a rough time, maybe a heart break or some really bad time in your life? for me Slipknot "Circle" and Johnny Cash "Hurt" both take me back to a pretty rough spot.

"Sometime Around Midnight" by The Airborne Toxic Event reminds me of some times when my life was pretty hopeless. I cry every time I listen to it. But I listen to it a lot, because I like to feel sad. Happy just isn't good enough sometimes.

Audioslave - Shadow On The Sun. Takes me back to the emotions I felt after having my heart broken and spirit crushed by a girl.

Metallica - Fade To Black. The song I listened to when dealing with the petty troubles of late jr. high.

Static X - Bled For Days. The song I had playing when I saw the second plane crash on 9/11, making it essentially the last song I listened to before the world changed as I knew it.

Getting Nowhere - Magnetic Man

That last few months of school... *shudders*

One of my favourite tracks of recent times, I must say.

OT: Far Away by Nickelback. It was the song that me and a close friend semi jokingly agreed applied to us, when we hardly saw each other at all.
I chose to have it played at their funeral.

I've Been Drinking - Ligeia.

After the only girl I've ever had serious feelings for cheated on me and left me, I went into a hardcore binge drinking phase for about two months.

That song pretty much described every single night of those two months of my life.

Don McCloskey-Mr Novocaine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrtUMwlU0vs

That song and video is seriously depressing shit. The only thing is I'm more Mr. Novocaine than the narrator.

Smashing Pumpkins-Disarm, from when I was young. Same for Zero.

A million others but I'm to tired and messed up.

Tears In Heaven - Eric Clapton

Reminds me of my grandad who passed away

When my grandfather passed away ( i was really close to him ) i drove my parents to the airport for the funeral and all the bullshit afterwards. We live in Florida and my grandfather lived in PA. So i was driving home and feeling sad and really shitty and there were like 40 hot air balloons lifting off near Orlando for some massive hot air balloon festival. I cried and now when ever i see a few hot air balloons i think of him.
