Hello UG,

Me and a friend are starting a band.

But we don't know what kinda songs we can learn..

Do you know any heavy not-too-hard songs to practise?

He is a guitarist, but he plays drums.. ( not with a double bass )
And I play guitar..

I hope I receive some usefull responds

Thanks in advance

Greetz,

Tunder

PS: posted in a other forum / topic, but they directed me back to here...

thanks for the replies for now

He listens to Memphis May Fire, but that's a littlebit too hard IMO

And I like In Flames a lot, but also a bit too hard......

So the genres will be: Metalcore / MeloDeath

Any opinions will be great

Ordinary Story by In Flames is quite easy, but if you guys could find a bass player, that would be nice

I thought about finding a good drummer, that the current drummer goes playing guitar and that I'm going to bass...

Playing bass cant be too hard IMO..

Will look into Ordinary Story

I prefer playing in Drop D BTW

i WAS going to say Communication Breakdown and Whole Lotta Love

but if you want metalcore melodeath
Afterlife is pretty easy
most BVB is not too bad if you have a good memory and know a lot of scales
if you want plain dumb metalcore then go for early TDWP and As I Lay Dying

Black Sabbath - Iron Man
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Iron Maiden - The Trooper
White Stripes - Seven Nation Army
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit

The drums are definately tooooo hard for him in BVB

He can almost play Atreyu - falling down at full speed
But i always get reallllllly hurting fingers while playing that song, dunno why.....

So thats why we wanted to know some other songs

We like Ordinary Story, but there is one problem about that.

My pickups doesnt hold the drop A# tuning very well, it sounds very very thin on my amp.. ( any idea how to solve with eq? )
