Hello everybody,

I search for the name of the scale which contains these notes :
C# D E F F# G A B C#

I don't know if C# is the first note of the scale.

I wait for your help, thanks !

I'd have said D major with a passing minor third, but the harmonic context will strongly influence - or dictate - the naming convention.

F and F# in a scale?

I agree that its a D major with a passing minor third... But somethings screaming at me about this...

I can write a coherent tune ... But 3/4? I play rock, not polka.

It's the Eight-tone Spanish scale.: 1 b2 b3 3 4 b5 b6 b7

So the notes will now be labelled: C# D E E# F# G A B

If you don't know what the root is, then we can't tell you what it is.

This. There's no point in trying to dissect this otherwise.
Nothing that is worthwhile in life will ever come easy.

It's the generic exotic scale. Hope that helps.
And no, Guitar Hero will not help. Even on expert. Really.
