I'm a bit confused around this maybe some one can explain a little on it? I know this is probably wrong but does it mean the chord or note that a song is based around that doesn't necessarily have to be the tonic of the key.?

Why do you think that the Tonic of the Key and the Tonal center and the Key are not the same?

If you have a song in A major, the key, tonic, tonal center are A. Its where the song resolves to.
What do you guys listen to when playing video games?
