i just got some free picks in from gravity picks after asking them for samples. i got a classic and a classic XL. i was wondering though. what is the need for a 3mm thick pick? they are good, and nearly impossible to let go of, but so thick!

Some people like thick picks. I use wooden ones which are about that. It's all preferential.

I used to use Jazz III's (1.38mm) for a long time, until I got my 3mm Gravity Classic Mini. Now thats all I use. Thicker picks give you a little better control usually, at least they do for me. And they feel better IMO.

i only really like thick ones when im in standard, when my strings are tightest. i imagine they would be better for jazz players now i think about it

I use 2.0 mm Dunlop Gator Grips for electrics, but I use .71 and 1.14 mm when playing acoustic.

^The Classic Mini is like a slightly larger Jazz III, with a more rounded tip. The Razer Mini is like a Jazz III with a sharper tip.

I only use thicker picks (2.5mm+) Lighter picks tend not to last very long with me, in other words I ill them.

Gravity is supposed to send me samples, I cant wait to try them.

In the end, the only question is: what bass would Jesus play?

I think he's a Fender Jazz guy.
