I'm looking into gettin' me a good bass stack to compliment my collection of basses. So my budget is around $400 at the most, and I'm looking for a bass amp that has a good low end and cuts through really well. Would like one with a crunch or OD channel as well, if possible. Any good bass heads in this price range? Recommend me anything, tube or solid state.

Most bass amps don't have OD channels, you'll have to buy a separate pedal in most cases. But Ashdown do some pretty awesome pedals. And you wont be able to go Valve in that range either, but honestly I wouldn't recommend Valve anyway unless you just HAD to have valve.

An Ashdown MAG 300 and an Ashdown James LoMenzo pedal would probably do it for you.

That Carvin...... Actually looks better than the amp I had in mind. haha. I was considering a Peavey Headliner, but that Carvin looks like it has more of what I'd want.
