Hey guys,

I'm looking to put together a strat kit for a bit of fun (plus I want a strat), and have been looking around for a while now.

So far this is what I'm looking at: http://www.soundbasemegastore.com/Chord-Cal-K1-Self-Build-Guitar-Kit-p17070/

Although I just found it for £70 muahaha. Does that look like a decent kit to you guys? I can't find a review of it anywhere.

Another question I have is, do you need to replace hardware on kits alot? Is it going to turn up and not be able to hold tuning at all? Or would it be all good if I maybe got a brass nut and blocked the trem.

Also, if you guys know anywhere I can get a similar quality kit for a decent price please let me know.

Thanks for any help you give me.

That looks a little sketchy. Those kits like that are usually cheap for a reason.

For a strat build, the standard is probably Warmoth or Mighty Mite. Also, Carvin makes some strat kits. However, those are kind of expensive but you are getting an awesome guitar. http://www.carvinguitars.com/kits/

Also, you could always just buy a cheaper strat and mod it out. By the time you replace all the hardware and electronics it is basically a kit build anyway.

This is terrible advice. Even worse than the useless dry, sarcastic comment I made.

I'm too old for the Jim Morrison look now. When I was gigging I had a fine arse.
