From what I hear, these are good...esp. if its from the 60's...whysoo cheap though??

Gretsch had quality control issues for a long time, and that includes the 60s. The Corvette was one of their cheaper models then, so that price isn't terribly out of line, considering the modifications. You'll want to play it and check the truss rod before you buy. If you can afford a new or newer model one, the quality is likely to be better. Gretsch is making the best instruments they've ever made right now. The old one will sound amazing, it's just hit or miss with playability and neck stability with those old Gretsches.
