Right, so I am offloading loads of old rubbish, and I found a bass guitar in reasonable condition. All I know is that its a Yamaha, it has one split coil and one standard coil, 3 knobs and 24 frets.

Could someone tell me what model I have? So I can know an appropriate price to sell at?

Ill try and get some pictures.

Sounds like a RBX 270.

EDIT: They're nice basses. I started on one.

Does it look like this?

If yes, its a Yamaha RBX170. In really nice condition you could sell it for maybe $100?

Yes it does look like that, however the RBX270 looks quite similar, how can I tell the difference?

Looks like the RBX 270 has enclosed pickups and a black headstock and the 170 has exposed pole pieces and a natural headstock.
