i just got the beghringer c-1 condenser mic and plan to use it with an acoustic guitar.....where is the best place to put the mic relative to the gguitar?

i did a test video and placed it about 6 inches away from the soundhole
i got a pretty good sound from it

If I'm using a single mic on acoustic, I usually find that 6 inches away from the 12th fret, pointing towards the soundhole is a good place to start.
Also, you do realise that the C-1 is a side address mic right? So it picks up sound from 1 side (the one with the spot on it I presume), not from the end like a 58 would? Whether you realised this or not, it sounded better than I expected, so it can't be all that bad!

As silly as this may sound, for my acoustic I just recorded, I got a pretty nice sound from having it on my lap. Not muffled or anything.

Listen to the new acoustic demo on my page to hear what I mean:

I EQ'd it a bit and added some compression and I'm surprised how well it turned out from laying on my lap while playing at the same time.

Wow, I'd hate to hear what you'd consider to be a lot of compression!
