Okay...So first don't ban me, but earlier yesterday someone posted about Subani guitar's. I saw the white archtop for under 400. It looks sexy, but are they that bad?

You'll only find that out by playing one.

I'd expect a £400 guitar to be pretty good, but if they were worth that money I'd also expect to have heard of them before a suspected adbot starts a forum about them.

Ehh...I've never been a double neck guy, but I have always wanted an archtop like a gretsch for a guilty pleasure.

Nothing guilty about that - Gretsch make awesome guitars, I don't have one anymore but I've had a couple over the years, as well as a couple from their Electromatic range. Even they were pretty good, probably better than Epiphone.

Fact: Archtops are cool.

EDIT: I always thought doublenecks are cool as well, but I bought one recently and I've discovered they're a pain in the arse!! It's an absolute nightmare to restring as you can't get your hands between the 2 necks to get hold of the tuning peg properly. The bottom neck also gets in the way a bit when you're playing barre chords on the top neck.

Yes they are. I've been playing archtops for over 35 years, and to me, a hand-carved archtop guitar is pure art.

Ended up buying one (couldn't resist the low price) and it's decent. Might change the pickups though. But well built.
