So I have a pedal board that I bought, for the last three years, i've been powering everything with my voodoo labs Pedal power two, and I have used patch cables that i bought. I keep having problems with my wirings, and pedals, so I've decided to get a custom made board, with custom cut wiring for power and patching, and made especially for me

But, I don't want to drop a ton of money on a board until I have all the pedal i think i want. With my current pedals, I would think my signal chain should be:

Whammy DT
RMC Wizard 5 wah
Original Russian Green Big Muff
BMF Effects Great Wide Open
Lovepedal Englishman
Lovepedal Les Lius
Xotic Effects EP Booster
Ernie Ball Volume Jr -- tunner out to Boss TU-3
Empress Vintage Modified Superdelay

I definitely want to throw in an Empress Compressor, some type of really gritty fuzz with a huge bottom end (like my Russian Muff but much less smooth), maybe an analog man modded tube screamer, Malekko Lo-Fi Ekko 616, and some modulation effects. I rarely use modulation effects, but I feel that I should have some type of modulation available on my board. Any ideas?

Build one yourself out of wood? You can always add on more space as you get more pedals.

i really think a custom pedal board is such a huge waste of money. you can just make one out of ply would and cover it with felt and then just run all of the wires for powering ur pedals underneath it and drill some holes to put them thru. that way there is no mess of wires on top of the board.

for a modulation effect i'd suggest an mxr phase 90 and an mxr evh flanger. if you want something kinda crazy check out the ibanez paul gilbert airplane flanger. that thing is pretty damn cool

I mean, I have a custom one now, I think it'll be worth getting someone to make me another one for all of my pedals and make wires for me so i have less a chance of things going wrong. I was thinking about the phase 90, but idk what else i would want.

Maybe ask for it to be built so it can be expanded?

For fuzz maybe a skreddy of some kind? They are basically modified big muffs
Either the pig mine or a used mayo might be good?
I'm thinking of smashing pumpkins fuzz when I recommend those

For modulation, what would you use? phaser and flanger as recommended are things to look at. Maybe a chorus? Everything else I'd only get if it had a specific purpose

What kind of stuff do you play?

^^^I was thinking about doing that actually, use my old pedal board for that, my custom one for my core pedals, but I don't know how i could wire it for certain pedal orders, i.e. phaser before distortion, chorus/flanger/etc. after distortions.

I actually definitely considered this pedal, but it isn't true bypass! Anything you can think of that is similar in tone?

But just because it's not true bypass doesn't mean that it'll significantly alter your tone. A good bypass retains your tone just as well as a true bypass pedal.

Otherwise Dr Scientist the Elements or Blackout Effectors Fix’d Fuzz Deluxe?
