Anybody else here have one of these? I'm being told it should completely blow me away with the gain on 10 and ... it just isn't, single note riffs are especially thin and lifeless and soloing/scales/sweeping seem unresponsive as if I'm not picking notes hard enough, but I know I am.

I assume there's something wrong with my head then ... I just don't know what?

Too much gain.

What cab are you using?

Also, turn the gain down. The trick to good death metal rhythm tone is to use less gain, so everything is articulated.

Nevermind ... low gain more volume doesn't fix what I think my problem is. It feels like articulate stuff like sweep picking is very unresponsive and it's no fault of mine, I've been practicing it for years on a shitty Roland Cube so surely it should sound better on this amp ...

I don't get it.

fiddle with your EQ settings, or buy an aditional EQ for the fx loop.

Perhaps you'd want some other effects such as a Tube Screamer, Compression or maybe a delay to help your lead tones?

Maybe, I definitely give it a try when I pick up another cable for the fx loop.

What are your settings? It can take a while to dial in a good tone on an amp. Usually I find a tone I like but when I play the next day I'm disappointed!!

my 6262 is far from thin sounding. add a eq in the loop and an attenuator

EDIT: Nevermind, now that I turn it on and look carefully, one tube isn't glowing red in the middle at all ... it was the reflection off the other tubes that made it look like it was fine.
