What do you think about these lyrics ? bear in mind im only thirteen so dont expect a master piece

Verse 1 -
What ever happend to distortion and guitar ?
Now its all auto tune and rapping about your car
I wanna go back to when music really mattered
It wasnt all about the money or your popularity

Pre Chorus-
It was Joey Ramone not Niki Minaj
Axl Rose not Eminem

Chorus:

Now I turn on the radio in the car
and all i ever hear is blah blah blah
What i wouldnt give just one last time
to hear

(All Instuments Stop Here)

Hey Ho, Lets Go !
Hey Ho, Lets Go !

Verse 2 -

What ever happened to the punk rock and the angst ?
The music had a message and they didnt care about looks
I wanna go back to when music knew no boundries
It didnt all revolve around the charts and your sales

Pre Chorus-
It was Joey Ramone not Niki Minaj
Axl Rose not Eminem

Chorus:

Now I turn on the radio in the car
and all i ever hear is blah blah blah
What i wouldnt give just one last time
to hear

(All Instuments Stop Here)

Hey Ho, Lets Go !
Hey Ho, Lets Go !

*Solo*

Bridge:
Now its Tom Delonge and Billie Joe

Gerrard Way and Dereck Whilbey

Mark Hoppus and Mike Dirnt

Tre Cool and Travis Barker

Jaret Reddick and Patrick Stump

Frank Iero and Alex Gaksarth

Joel Madden and Ray Toro

Mike Way and Frank Turner

This is the only thing that tells us
All hope is not yet lost
No matter what your age or number
The colour of the sky
The only thing thats certain in this ****ed up world is
punk will never die !

Chorus:

Now I turn on the radio in the car
and all i ever hear is blah blah blah
What i wouldnt give just one last time
to hear

(All Instuments Stop Here)

Hey Ho, Lets Go !
Hey Ho, Lets Go !
Hey Ho, Lets Go !
Hey Ho, Lets Go !

Ehh, I suppose it could be worse. I'm not a huge fan of the name-dropping to be honest, but that might just be a personal thing. It sounds like a 13 year old wrote it, take that how you will. Also, is the grammar mistake in the title intentional? It's supposed to be "Born Too Late".

Honestly, I'm not really a fan of this. Really, bdylan61 hit the nail on the head, it sounds juvenile.

On top of that, I hate the false assumption that modern music is all about money and popularity. My god man, there has been "pop" music for decades. The music you like from those years just happens to not fall into the pop category of the time.

plenty of new music has angst. whiny, whiny angst...
"The man that hath no music in himself, nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils. The motions of his spirit are dull as night, and his affections dark as Erebus. Let no such man be trusted."

Kinda reminded me of a Bowling for Soup song oddly enough. I think the old school punk fans might not be too happy about seeing the "Hey ho..." bit.

I wouldn't worry about trying to tackle the big topics like the commercialism of modern music and try to stick to things more personal to you. If it's more about the typical "I like the girl" song then just go with it and use it to develop your skills as a song writer.

Keep going though! And have a bit of confidence too!
