Hello all,

I searched around on here for similar questions and couldn't find the answer I was looking for. I am looking to reduce the volume level of my acoustic guitars for home-use, but I will not compromise my approach to picking. I record often, so I can't mute the strings or simply "play softer."

I record direct with my acoustic guitars, and haven't mic'd them yet. I have done both routes with my electrics; direct and mic'd.

I'm looking at the Planet Waves Screeching Halt soundhole cover like some people suggested in other threads, but I am wondering how much quieter it will make my guitars? The cover is meant to reduce feedback in high-volume applications, and it seems reducing acoustic volume is merely a side-effect that some of us desire.

Thanks guys! (and girls)
