I haven't posted on this forum in ages. Frankly I haven't really written anything that I felt was worthwhile to share over the past few years. This is the first song I've written in almost a year, so I figured that I would share it on here like I used to years ago when I was writing 10 or so songs a month.

Comments and suggestions are welcome and appreciated and I will do my best to make sure that I return the favor....

Sail away with me
We don’t need a ship
We’ll jump into the sea
And let the water guide our way

But I’m afraid
I can’t swim fast enough
And I’m afraid
That I might drown

Sing away with me
We can join the choir
We’ll sing a melody
And the audience will cheer

But I’m afraid
I can’t sing loud enough
And I’m afraid
That I’ll blend in

Up, up, and away with me
We can shoot for the stars
Of course I mean figuratively
Well, maybe then I don’t

But I’m afraid
I can’t aim high enough
And I’m afraid
That I might miss

Run away with me
We can get away
To somewhere warm and carefree
Just like we always wanted

But I’m afraid
I can’t run far enough
And I’m afraid
That I’ll be stuck here

Listen now with me
I’ll sing you a tune
It might be a bit corny
But I mean every word

It’s just that I’m afraid
You’ll take offense to this
Yes I’m afraid
You’ll think it’s about you

But this song is all about me
My flaws and my fears
All of my insecurities
And the things I wish I could change

But I’m afraid
I can’t do it on my own
And I’m afraid that I’ll need you here
Yes I’m afraid that I’ll need you here
