Hello peeps,

I bought this amp at the beginning of August, but I figured I might as well do a NAD now:

It's an Orange ( ) TH30 with the PPC 410 cab.

I tried it in the store, and I absolutely loved it.

30 watts, 4 ECC83 pre-amp tubes, 4 EL84 power-amp tubes, fx-loop and 2 channels .

The cleans are wonderful, ranging from sparkly cleans to bassy cleans, and with 4 power tubes engaged, it starts to break up at around 4-6, and it gets a nice crunchy overdrive when turned to 7 and higher. I don't mind not having a 'middle' knob on there.

The dirty channel is very nice too, the shape knob ranges from stoner/sludge tones to scooped mids tones, with a lot of very decent rock tones with it turned to 4-6. The gain goes from light overdrive to bone-crushing distortion. I do miss the ability to equalize, which is why I'm considering buying an mxr 10-band eq, and an od pedal, to tighten up the high gain, so if you have one of those for sale, contact me.

I use it in my post-hardcore band, with a very loud drummer, and it's louder than him easily, although my cleans are not superduper clean, but I don't mind that .

It's a fine-looking lady too, don't you think?

Also, this:

Gravity picks:

- Classic
- Axis mini
- Razer mini
- Striker .75

Just got these today, I played with them for a while, and they seem very sturdy, and they play very nice.
Although I didn't really like the Axis mini, the point seemed too round and the pick itself is kinda hard to hold on to.
I do love the razer mini though, I normally don't like thick picks (I think this one is around 2.5-3 mm thick?), but this one plays like a charm, which I have read several times. I really like the thin point too.

Steve clayton:

- Nylon .94 mm
- Raven .50 mm
- Bee hold .80 mm

Got these last week, and I absolutely love the Nylon .94 mm. This may become my main pick, it's big enough to not drop it, but small enough, so that it doesn't become clumsy, and it sounds really good.
I didn't really like the bee hold and the raven, they seemed too big for me, and the bee hold, which has a hole in it to provide more grip, doesn't really provide much grip for me.

Dunlop :

Got these last week too, got 41 picks, a derek trucks signature slide (no picture) and 5 sets of strings, this included:
- Various jazz IIIs, ultex, fins, tortex and max grip picks, and also an aluminum and a stainless steel pick
- String packs including 9s, 10s, 11s, 12s and 'heavy core' 10s

Jazz IIIs: I like the way they feel in my hand, but they seem a little small, yet they provide a good sound, but I don't think it's possible to play really fast shred-like riffs with them. Good picks nonetheless.
Ultex: Good picks, just kinda your basic pick, I guess.
Fins: The thinnest ones seem REALLY floppy, but from .94mm on, it's sturdy enough to not bend. You can get various sounds out of one pick, which is really nice.
Tortex: These kinda slip out of my hand, and the ones on the 2nd row are too small, and the point of the ones on the 3rd row are too round to my taste.
Max grip: They provide grip, just like they should, and they sound good, which is basically all you need.

I haven't tried put on any of the strings yet.

~ The end ~

Yes
Do you think I should send them this link (since I told them I'd review the picks, and seen the amount they gave me, it wouldn't hurt to do something in return, right?) or review it all again in the review section?

Yea, I wouldn't link them to this thread. You'll just show them that you were always intending on getting shit for free...which makes you look like a bad guy.

They probably googled "Dunlop free picks" after receiving all the "free stuff please?" emails.

Anyway, HNGD!

Another factor that has grown this myth is a bunch of opinionated guys who really don't know what they're talking about, which to be brutally honest is a bunch of you guys on here.

The only real answer to the SG vs Les Paul debate is to get a Flying V and laugh at all the suckers who don't have one.

About 600 for the head, and about 500 for the cab, I think.
