Must be all tube.

1 x 12 combo, or lower wattage head ( I have a cab already)

gig worthy

Budget 800.00 USD

Style : Classic Rock, but I do a covers in a band so I do a wide variety.

+1 to Carvin V3M. Also Laney LC30. Used Fender Deville w/ Wampler Plexidrive or Plextortion (or both).

I don't man you got a shit ton of options and saying "classic rock" is narrowing down the tone as much as saying "I play metal" there are lots of different tones within those genres so be more specific if you really want some help.
Ibanez SIR27
Pod HD500x

RIP:
Mesa Boogie Roadster 2x12 combo
Cmatmods analog chorus, phaser, tremoglo, signa drive, butah, and deeelay

Yeah if you could list some bands who sound close to what you want that would help a lot. I suggested the Renegade just because it can do American and British voicings, but if you could narrow it down that would help immensely.

Long story, but I have my money tied up at Guitar Center so I have to get the new amp there.

To narrow down the tone I am looking for:
rock coverband stuff: 311, Tom Petty, AC/DC, Van Halen, Skynyrd, Old classics Johnny B Goode, Twist and Shout & alike. Heavier stuff like Godsmack, AIC, Ozzy.

My favorite tones are in the AC/DC - AIC range

Thanks again.

Laney LC? GH?
The GH does the hot rodded Marshall tone well, can backing down on volume knob cleans up pretty nicely. Ive played through the LC,, also nice for the sound you want but the combos have shite speakers and IIRC the LC50H isnt sold anymore.

The Renagade is the perfect choice....

+1 to the Egnater Renegade. Great amp. No looking back on this one.

The Laney GH, Carvin V3 and a Traynor YCV50B would work great too.

I noticed you have a Blackstar HT40 now. I'm not a huge fan of the Blackstars but what is it about that amp that you do not like now?

Also, you mention that you have a cab but I don't see that listed. What cab is it and what speakers does it have? Otherwise, you have some nice gear.

You also mention that your money is tied up with GC. What does that mean? That you could return the Blackstar for something else?

If you could go used I see some great deal on the Hartford craigslist - if that is remotely close to you.

http://hartford.craigslist.org/msg/2601515056.html El Diablo combo $650 (big mother)
http://hartford.craigslist.org/msg/2598151060.html Boogie F50 $750 (not perfect but hey)
http://hartford.craigslist.org/msg/2584796116.html JSX halfstack $700 (great price)
http://hartford.craigslist.org/msg/2595228219.html Boogie DC-5 $600 (needs cab)
http://hartford.craigslist.org/msg/2593992223.html Peavey Classic 50 $450
http://hartford.craigslist.org/msg/2515606826.html JVM210H $900 (needs cab)
http://hartford.craigslist.org/msg/2489874350.html Line 6 Vetta combo + FB $500
http://hartford.craigslist.org/msg/2530287685.html Marshall TSL60 $625

+311 to covering 311 (one of my fav bands go figure)

Basically with what you cover you want a British type circuit (Marshally) running EL34 power tubes. This is not critical - just something to be aware of. In that case the El Diablo, JSX, and Marshall obviously would be where I would focus. Otherwise, just get the Renegade and be happy. No worries.

The Blackstar crapped out on me one day. Had a volume spike then drop. Brought it in for warranty repair, came back (after many we eks)and its still not right. The levels and the sound are no where as good as when I first got it (5 months agaon only)
Afterlooking inside this amp I feel its cheaply made and have a real relibilty issue with it. Thats the reason I don't even want to bring it back for repair again.

So, I piecked up an Egnater Tweaker 40. Kind of rushed, needed something right then for a gig. Its okay, but just doesn't do it for me.

So thats where my money is tied up. I have 30-day (less now) to find something ese and return the Tweaker.

So thats my story.....so far

Thanks

so far it is no for a blackstar, or a tweaker 40

jet city 50

used rebel 30

used bogner alchemist

add one more, vox night train 50 should be high quality, then get male to spade cable and use blackstar for a cab.
Mr. Zachary Vex on the fuzz probe: "Congratulations. You must be insane. Even I don't get how to use this pedal".

I'm about to buy a Vox AC4. I've played it several times, and I can say it is AMAZING. It can hook up to a cabinet as well. It's got great clean and distorted tones.
