i know the chords D,Em,G and A. and how to progress with them quite well. is there any biggies im missing that would let me play more songs i can play 2 so far pumped up kicks and soco amaretto lime.

Justinguitar.com that Is all. Get all your Major amd minor chords down first and then get started on barre chords,should keep you busy for a while

I'd say a C chord would fit well. G-Em-C-D is very common.
It also presents quite a challenge too.
Also, you should learn the E chord. Once you got the E, you pretty much know the Am too.

After that, try learning C#m and B, to help you play songs in E major (or C# minor).

A, B, C, D, E, F, G and all of their minors.

Then move on to barre chords.

Try E Major and B7 and you can play Blues in E, Like Pride and Joy and so on.

Also with the E you can play a lot of songs with A D and E chords.
