got my eyes on a 1990 Ibanez 540r for what should be a decent price (less than £200).

It has had a respray and has a few cosmetic defects which don't bother me. My main concern is not getting ripped off with a dud.

Checked out the serial (the last digit is illegible on the pic but tried a few variations) and it seems to confirm it as legit and Japanese made.

This particular example has dot inlays, the 'Custom Made' 22nd fret marker and the input jack is on the side. Does that seem right for this particular model? Google pics shows a few that are the same and some that are different.

Anything to check out for? The guy says fret wear is minimal but not much else other than that.
