Well, I guess most of you guys don't have a clue about the Swedish punk scene, and some of you might not even now what Sweden is (it's an ex-socialistic, nowadays capitalistic, country in the north Europe, cold as hell at winter).
But to the topic: its punk!
I'd say Sweden has a LOT of great punk, if you haven't checked it out yet you really should. Here are some tips:

Our most famous punk band played in '77-'82 and was called Ebba Grön (=Ebba Green). They are still much popular!
Their song Staten & Kapitalet (=The government and the capital): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5vvrUrBuQQ How shitty society is and the government and capital "they sit in the same boat
though it is not them who rows, rowing as sweat dripped
and whip that tickles, tickles nor
their greasy necks."

We're only in it for the drugs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTxajd7O7xQ&feature=related It's about how boring it is to live in suburbs and that no one cares about those people.

KSMB also played from 1977 til 82. They never got as famous as Ebba Grön did, but are still well-known among Swedish punkers.
Sex Noll Två (=Six Zero Two): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YM8Tl0kvZU0 Well, people have divided opinions what it is about, but I'd definitively say it's about drugs

Asta Kask started play in '78 and still plays today! They play "trallpunk" (Swedish for melodious punk) and has a big influence in that genre.
Vill Inte Va med (=Don't want to be with): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dW-5_dV3wUs&feature=related To be outside society and be brave enough for that... Well, hard to explain what it is about, it's about whole life.

Tant Strul, active years 80-85, was a band most consisting of females, which was quite controversial in the punk at that time.
Dunkar Varmt (=it pounds warm): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xTCjhQ1a48&feature=autoplay&list=PLEACA0F65D7651EAB&playnext=1&shuffle=490014 Beautiful description of sex.

Yeah, those are the most famous Swedish punk bands. What do you guys think so far? If someone likes it, I can recommend a bunch of more bands.

(Sorry for quite bad English. :/)

What about Millencolin? I'd say they're one of the biggest punk bands from Sweden
#3
I like punk, not ****ing skatepunk. Sorry.

But well, I like a lot of more bands than I mentioned in the first post. For instance Traste & Superstararna is (/was) a really great band.

Millencolin are amazing

Im sorry, I just don't see how you could argue that hardcore isn't metal. That just seems arrogant to me.

Yes, its its own kind of metal, but its still metal.

I hadn't even heard about Millencolin before, and don't know anybody who listens to them. Lol.

Hey man, I don't like Millencolin and stuff either, but you haven't earned the privilege to be a dick.

But yeah, I don't know any of those bands you mentioned, but I'll check 'em out.

I like the typical Swede D-beat bands.

Hah sorry, but I just got a bit pissed when I talked about punk and somebody was like "millencolin!!!! :PPP". In Sweden we're very exact about what is punk and what is not, as Swedish punk is a lot about politics (anarchy, socialism, communism, feminism etc.). Bands which don't sing about that or just bands like Green Day are poser-stamped.

Do it!

D-beat (or in Swedish kängpunk) is niiiiice. Heard Anti Cimex, Shitlickers or Totalitär?

Yup. I like 'em.

Hey, since you live in Sweden you should take my idea: Start a straightedge band called Teetotalitär.

Nice!

Since I'm not straightedge it would be pretty fail.

This is a cool thread. I like your bands almost as much as I like your fish.

Guess that's a good rating? Talking about bananas I'm very obsessed with fishes and have colored a blonde one on my sidecut...

Wow, I thought it was only Swedes who listened to Anti cimex! Now I know better haha

It works even better as a parody band. But I guess you're too political and serious for that...

Hah, maybe!
I don't think I'm as serious as I seem to be, I just get more serious when I write in English.

D-Beat is so boring save a few bands. The Swedes do it well, and better than most countries, but I don't really need 100 identical bands in my iTunes.

And that's why I in general like melodious music better: it's easier to variate the sound and to be dynamic.

Sure it is! Swedish punkers ain't very nice tbh, you always have to be as "punk" as possible and I'd say that's very pathetic. But it still affects me. D:

In American punk we sing about what's REALLY important, like girls and drinking alone and stuff.

In America punks only wanna drink and have sex with girls with funny haircuts.

Swedish can´t sing about drinking, as beer is damn expensive there. Ok they know how to make moonshine.

Which band?

Asta Kask have a German twin (rather a cover band, that does not cover them, but was founded with them as enormous influence) called Rasta Knast, which I never really got into.
#26
I found Rasta Knast through a split they did where they cover Brazilian songs and this Brazilian band covers German songs. They did a nice version of Dia E Noite, Noite E Dia; but the rest of their music sounds way too pop-punk for my tastes.

Yeah it was definitely them. If I had to pick between the two I would definitely go with Rasta Knast.

What about Refused? probably one of the greatest bands ever that get totaly looked over.

Also No Fun at All is a great swedish punk band.

But REFUSED is without a doubt the best in my book.

I´d go with Agrotoxico

I think they once disspreaded they were playing with Rawside in a venue called "Wageni" which is practically as big as a shoe box. My brother and I arrived there after some time of searching and there was nothing. A man there said that someone must have disspreaded it and since Rawside (which is a rather well known underground band here) didn´t know anything, he bets its been Agrotoxico.

So we got back to a panel discussion between Turks and Kurds without Turks about Kurdistan.
