this is the first song i wrote. it is a duet with piano:

(spoken)
I will not plead. if i deny, i am condemned already,
in courts where ghosts appear as witnesses
and swear men's lives away, if i confess then i confess a lie,
to buy a life which is not life, but only death in life.

(singing starts here)
I spoke out
To set her free
The eyes of the world
Then turned on me

Under the weight of the world now the stones crush me
I retain hope despite even tragedy
Gasping for air, crying out, i will not plea
Sentenced to death, innocent, though none believe

The ones i loved
Merely stood by
Just listening
To my last cry

More weight, he said

Under the weight of the world now the stones crush me
I retain hope despite even tragedy
Gasping for air, crying out, i will not plea
Sentenced to death, innocent, though none believe

(last verse is two parts sang simultaneously)
An unmarked grave / The way i gave
On gallows hill / My soul to fill
In life a slave / An unmarked grave
In death im still / On gallows hill

i plan on posting a recording once i get a mic

The Crucible is a horrible book/play. I just wanted to jump into the storyline and punch some of those idiots.

but it does make for a good song topic. good job.

that would suck to get pressed to death...

This makes for cheerful midnight reading lol. Sounds good, and you've avoided coming across as all 'I've read a book so I'm a pretentious douchebag'. Well done.
Dude, where's my band?

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

i have to give the credit for the idea to my sister Sara. she wrote a piano piece to go with it. i wrote the lyrics and we both sing it.

Nice. i def like the idea. It has a cool ballad-like title too.
