I recently traded a 5 string bass for a 1992 Ibanez RG560. Floyd Rose tremolo, original purple paint (has dings in the paint), 2 S1 single coils and a V2 pickup.

serial number F021971, made in Japan

The guitar was made in 1990. They were only made from 1988 to 1992. The F means Fujigen, but the numbers from 1987 to 1996 used a different format from the ones made from 1997 to present. In the older models, the first number was the year, in this case the zero means 1990. In newer models (1997 - present) it is the first 2 numbers.

For reference see the website already referred to as well as IbanezRules.

The last 5 numbers, 21971, are a sequential serial number.

I'd love to hear it, the pickups sound interesting.
