Okay so as far as genres go, what should I expect from P90 pickups? Would they be able to cope with hard rock riffs, for instance Rocket Queen? I'd really appreciate some helpful responses from this!

p90s are suprisinly versatile ive seen them used in everything from clean stuff to metal^that actually

buti think theire a bit noisy ifyou want to use alot of gain since they are single coil but like any pick up it depend on th eplayer and the rest of the rig

sure

i (personally, not saying it can't be done) wouldn't want to use them for out-and-out metal as they can be a little noisy and the bass isn't super-tight, but for everything up to and including hard rock, they're great.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

P90's are great for hard rock riffs. They sound much better when used in conjunction with tube amps though, IMHO. Lots of pros use 'em.

Personally, I think they sound best when you run them clean but right on the very edge of breaking up.

They can work in pretty much anything, seriously.

p90's are magic. they're a gift from the heavens. note that there are good and bad p90's. some shine a lot better in versatality then others.

I love P90's. Probably my favourite pickups. I've got a Telecaster with two custom Seymour Duncan P90's. Sounds like sex.

The Les Paul Pro Deluxe with P-90 pickups: one of the greatest Les Pauls ever made. A pox on Gibson for discontinuing it!
