hi guys ...so i recently got a guy to do atotal rewire on my ibanez and install acrunch lab in the bridge and a air norton in the neck.......now the air norton sounds good but the crunch lab is soo muddy sounding ...i noticed when i check out the wiring that the guy had used a 250k resister rather than a500k could that be the sole problem ??or could it be something else?

You mean a 250k pot? I'm not very knowledgeable in electronics, but it is true humbuckers sound more open with a 500k pot and that's what most people use.

a 500k pot will definitely help, also check the value of the tone control capacitor, it should read 473 (0.047uF) or 223 (0.022uF)

it's the value of the capacitor, it basically defines where the frequency roll off happens on the tone control, taking the trebles out of the circuit.

sounds like your main issue is the 250k pots
