It's like middle school and high school church groups.

It's a group where you gather in a circle and whine about how no one knows your pain.

You gonna get raped.

Nah, you're gonna sit about, maybe watch DVDs or use computers. They might get you to do a project, if you want

Youth Group

noun
an organization of young people, as for social purposes, usually under the sponsorship of a church, political organization, or the like.

It's most likely a church associated youth group. I was in youth group when I was younger and hated it.

so I'm probably not going to be expected to know alot about religion? because I know next to nothing about religion.

Not really, it's a teaching thing, but depending on the night you go you may not really do that much that's churchy. When I used to go to church wednesday night youth group was just listening to music and hanging out, sunday night is more churchy though.

It could yet be a political youth group too. Go and see what it is and what the group is based on. If you don't like it stay the fuck out.

Not really. It's mostly just usually people hanging out. Every once in a while you do some projects or something. At least that's what the ones I know are like

I'm part of a youth group where our main focus is of course religious, but not all "youth groups" are of the religious nature, though I haven't seen a "youth group" that wasn't religious. Other kinds of "youth groups" don't necessarily label themselves as a "youth group" so it might be a high chance of being a religious. Though it really isn't bad to check. A group depends on its members so you can't really judge it just from that.

I mean, in my youth group, about two years ago a friend brought her boyfriend that was totally unreligious. He did drugs, drank alcohol, and all sorts of "bad" things and right now he's still struggling with those things, but its alot more controlled. All I'm saying is, is that its a fun and easy way to get to know and become friends with people because everybody is already so open and you don't have to struggle too much. Plus, if you decide to leave the group, you're always able to go back, well at least that's what mine is like.

There's two kinds of youth groups.

There's the typical youth group which is nothing more than a group of friends who are open to new people.

The other kind is the official youth group. Those are filled with hipsters. Stay the **** away.
