Simple: list the movies you feel have the best beginnings.

No Country for Old Men: Tommy Lee Jones playing the sheriff talks about the old days compared to the new days, over the scenery of rural America. Everytime I watch the beginning I get shivers. In fact: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQNvn4eb8LQ

Lord of the rings: Start with an epic battle which really sets the mood for the entire trilogy.

Jurassic Park: Shoot heer, shoooot heeer! Need I say more?

Watchmen: Just a great intro.

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly ofcourse.

Then there's Jurassic Park, Dune, every Star Wars movie (just for the cultural impact of that giant orchestra) and Alien.

Yea, Jurassic Park's opening was badass.

I also liked the bank robbery in The Dark Knight.

Inception had a confusing opening.

Pulp Fiction definitely worth a mention.
On playing the Paul Gilbert signature at the guitar store extensively, my missus sighed:
"Put it down now, It's like you love that guitar more than me!"
In Which I replied.
"Well it has got two F-Holes!"

I believe in America. America has made my fortune, and I raised my daughter in American fashion...

Also, No Country For Old Men, Trainspotting, The Dark Knight, Taxi Driver, and Once Upon A Time in the West

edit: All 3 Indy movies need a mention and the first Star Wars. I don't love Temple of Doom, but that opening. Damn.

Enemy at the Gates
I personally think it portrays the brutality and scale of WW2 much better than the opening to Saving Private Ryan.

Just remembered X-Men, Blade Runner and The Matrix. I pretty much have all of them memorized entirely in my head.

Drive has a pretty good opening scene, as does The Royal Tenenbaums, Dead/Alive, and The Matrix.
