I don't mean bad as in "it should be cancelled."

I mean bad as in it has the most dirty and mature content. And keep in mind I'm mainly referring to TV as in channels on basic cable, like ABC, FX, Comedy central, AMC, etc.

I think I'd go with It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. I can't think of any other show that will just casually show a character huffing paint, or waterboarding another character in a urinal. In fact their latest episode showed to homeless dudes banging each other on the beach.

Yep, agree. Just from reading the 2nd line, first thought was "Sunny."

Probably Breaking Bad. Nothing better than a high school teacher turned into a meth producing drug dealer. Lots of violence, adult themes, great plot writing, and generally great character development through the whole show. One of my favorite shows besides Dexter (which is about a serial killer who works with the police). It's a toss up between the two, so you decide.

I would say Dexter but thats on premium cable. What channel is It's Always Sunny in Philedelphia on? I've always wanted to watch more of that
FX, and the also play it like around 8 pm on Mondays on Comedy Central.

After the last episode, I'm definitely going to have to go with It's Always Sunny. The scene with the two bums under the boardwalk...

Plus, remember that episode last season where they thought Dennis got his sister pregnant?

Must watch this show.

In terms of shows I wouldn't want my future children to see, I'd say Breaking Bad. Always Sunny is clearly over the top and stuff, but Breaking Bad is about as gritty and real as you could ask for.

Yep, It's Always Sunny for sure. Is there a character on that show who hasn't been addicted to crack at least once?
Please excuse my godawful username. I was thirteen.

Breaking Bad isn't that bad content wise. I mean it doesn't glorify drugs, it pretty much does the opposite.

So I'd go with Always Sunny, Louie, Six Feet Under, that kind of thing. But most of that stuff is on after 10 where you can pretty much play anything.
#13
I'd have to agree with those who say that the BADDEST show on tv right now is It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

...most bad, wtf?

What Breaking Bad does right is get the dirty and gritty environment completely perfect, and while probably not the most constantly bad show on tv, it definitely peaks higher than the rest. I've never been more disgusted by something on television than I have at the thing at the end of the second episode.

And I also think that Louie is a bit worse than Always Sunny too.

Yeah and that's why I never want to get involved with any of that That and Requiem For A Dream pretty much scare the want for drugs out of you.

And that's what I'm trying to say, it doesn't glorify it. Shows like Dexter (I love the show), Always Sunny, and all those kind of shows, make you side with people who are really doing something wrong.

It's Always Sunny and Breaking Bad win it for me.

I watched a couple of episodes, and all the jokes felt very forced.

Then again, I haven't watched all the seasons.

No reason to, anyway.

Oh you gotta dig the story, the story is great.

There was a lot of doggy style from everyone early on.

I'd go with Breaking Bad for real grittiness. It's always sunny in philadelphia seems to rely on obscenity for the purpose of humour rather than serious story telling and I think there's a difference.

The shows aim for completely different things, so I don't think one can really make a justifiable comparison there.

Of course, two completely different styles, both equally shocking. However I'd say breaking bad is worse due to the fact that it is supposed to be a serious show.

Nah, I disagree with the "equally shocking" bit. Breaking Bad and a comedy don't give me an equal sense of thrill/any other emotion.

I enjoy Breaking Bad. Sure, some situations are unbelievable, but hey, it's entertainment.

Kenny Vs. Spenny got preeeeety bad at some points. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is one of my favourite shows ever, but it's pretty tame most of the time.

Spartacus Blood and Sand, although a lot of it is stylised etc.

Even so, violent scenes include a man's face being cut off and worn as a mask (literally everything is shown), a man being nailed to a cross and having his penis cut off (we see the stump), a pregnant woman is stabbed through the stomach etc etc.

And that's coupled with multiple beheadings, throat slashings, stabs, impalements etc EACH episode.

There are also a lot of sex scenes and profanity.

Still, one of the best series I have ever seen. RIP Andy Whitfield.

I think it's a commentary on the perception of Utopia with respect to age differences. Watching the show as a child is completely different from watching the show as an adult.

As a child, you watch the Teletubbies and you want to live with them in that curious little land of theirs. It's a place where you can play with Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po, with absolutely no worries and/or consequences.

As an adult, you watch the Teletubbies and are disturbed by them. Why do they always fixed, unmoving smiles on their faces? Why are their eyes always large as if they're staring at everything wonder? Has existential ennui completely frozen their expressions? Is their horror at being stuck there forever so great that they can't even express it? Why does Noo-Noo never go out? Why is he always abandoned by the others? Has he been brainwashed into thinking that he's not lonely because it's Utopia?

When we're young, we see something unfortunate and ask people why the world is so unfair. We ask why everyone can't be happy and free of worries. But, as we grow older, we realize that a perfect world would be even more horrifying, because we wouldn't be able to even think about things like these.
