Hi guys,

I'm trying to learn a song in which a specific technique is used, but I just can't do it.
I don't know the name of the technique either, so I'll try to explain.

It's a bit like palm muting, except here you actually need to hear the chord, but you mute it right after you've heard it. So your strums sound really short.

The song is called Sweet Caroline and I know this technique is also used in Hero Of War by Rise Against.

If anyone knows the name or how I can learn it, it would be much appreciated.

Left Hand muting? That's where you play the chord normally and mute it the fingers on yore left hand. Is that what yore talking about?

Things that restored my faith in humanity this year: 26
Things that removed all faith in humanity this year: 1,563,745,234 (estimated)

so that's a result of -1,563,745,208 faith points in humanity lost, which is actually up from last year!

I don't know what it's called, but I learned it by making the muting a part of the strumming motion. That helped me a lot.

Strum the chord like you normally would and just place your right palm on the strings to mute them. It can be hard with large 6 string chords but with smaller ones it's easier.
