I can't wait to hear more sound samples!

Musician's Friend will have these in stock by October 7th.

I'm thinking about getting either the GVT52-112 or a Vox AC30....depends on the reaction to the Ampegs.

Most of the clips on youtube sound good.

I REALLY hope these amps give out some nice Keith Richards/Mick Taylor Sticky Fingers/Exile sounds! Josh Homme uses Ampeg amps too, maybe the 2nd channel will lean towards a QOTSA style gain?

Hopefully they're great with pedals as well...

So what about you? What's your reaction to the series? Opinions? Complaints?

It is a bit pricey...

Wow. I love Mick Taylor's tone from that era, so hopefully these can get close to that and aren't too much. If so, I might have to get the 15 watt combo.
Did you know the odds of a Vault-Tec shelter failing are 1,763,497 to 1?

So imagine life in a Vault-Tec Vault. Not just a future.
A brighter future... underground.

Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.

No 50w head?

Glad to see Ampeg making guitar amps again.

Yeah, no 50w head.

Here are some extra specs I found on the 50 watt versions:

50W/25W power modes
Dual channels with footswitchable gain boost
Channel 1 delivers low to moderate gain
Channel 2 provides moderate to high gain
3 - 12AX7 preamp tubes
2 - 6L6GC power tubes
Solid state rectifier
12" Celestion speaker
Baxandall treble, mid, and bass controls
Spring reverb
1x16 ohm, 2x8 ohm, and 2x4 ohm speaker outputs
Open-back cabinet design
GVT-FS1 footswitch included for channel switching/gain boost
Optional GVT-FS2 two-button footswitch for reverb and effects loop (sold separately)

Sounds pretty decent but I'm gonna hold out until a proper clip is demonstrated. Might be cool.

Hate to drag up an old thread, but seems better than starting a brand new one. I'm considering a 15W GVT (got a few amps on the table, probably gonna buy one with the money I get after the holidays). Does anyone have one these? The video clips seem to be pretty scarce online.

Man, no 100 watt behemoths? And no tube rectifiers? I was hoping this amp would be like a modern rebirth of the V4... Time to listen to sound clips...
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

they got reviewed in the new issue of Guitar Player and faired pretty well. i'd like to check out the 50 watt combo and see how it sounds. a little expensive for a korean made amp though.

Is this "Baxandall EQ" really something to write home about? All the adds are claiming that it's legendary. What makes it different from a normal EQ?

no I am not excited at all, I heve never been a fan of ampeg guitar amps. Their bass amps are great though.
