It's a fairly rough mix atm, vocals need a little more tweaking and I haven't done the solo yet, but I thought I'd share it and hopefuly get some feedback/suggestions

You can listen to it on Youtube Or you can find the song on my profile, or on my bands Facebook page in my sig. If you like it, give us a like.

Wow! That was pretty cool. Your singer reminded me of VV from The Kills - I don't know if you've heard them, but that's definitely a good thing. The one critique I want to give is that it could use some variation, but since you said you're working on the solo that should take care of that. (I think a bridge section with some change in rhythm would be cool too, but that's just me. It's not necessary, I like it as is)

JPB,
I sure wish the audio quality was better because I think the song itself is quite good, & I really like the singing! You definitely need to work on this some more because I think it has good potential to be something special. Keep rockin'! Please review my music at this link:

Unfortunately, we can't afford a 'proper' studio, so all of this is being recorded in a shed with about $1000 worth of gear. We're on a tight budget Thanks for the kind words though

Really like the song. Has a nice, driving feel to the rhythm, and the vocals are very good. I do agree that a little more variation might be nice. Either way, I think it is a solid tune and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Take a listen to my band's new single, "Adeline", and let me know what you think of it:

hey really liked the vocals on the blacksheep cover, i've not heard the original so can't comment on that. All i'd say is maybe you could get a better sound out of your guitar, it's a little fuzzy for my taste, but her maybe that what you're going for.

really liked the atmospheric effects on useless too.

top stuff

I think the song itself is great! I'm not a big fan of dark songs but this one's really catchy. It has a garage feeling to it... It reminded me of the soundtrack for the Scott Pilgrim movie I liked the vocals a lot. They suit the song very well.

I think you could do a better job mixing. Drums sound like SuperiorDrummer and there could be more verse/chorus differentiation. At the end, I couldn't really tell if the song even had a verse/chorus structure (wow, I sound so hypocritical! I suck at mixing myself).

It would be great if you could check out my song: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1486391

Pretty cool, nice name:p

The vocals could be a little louder, a little change up in rhythm and dynamics might be nice at some point. Not to much a fan of the drums during the chorus, they should be bigger. The vocals are great, no complaints there. It could be a little longer, but good job. Thanks for the crit.

Dude. That was awesome. Love the vocals, hell I love everything about the track. Keep it up, you've got something great going!

I think the low-fi sound kind of fits the genre. vocals seem a little off key a few times, but other than that i wouldn't really change much. chorus is good and really catchy. The song isn't done though right? if it is you need to figure out a better ending.

I'll definitely add you guys on facebook, i enjoy your music.

We can't figure out what to do for the ending. Thoughts?

I'll crit yours now

You could slow down the tempo for the ending and change the rhythm, then kind of bring it down from there until its just the vocals. And end it with the singer saying the last line of the song.

Enjoyed listening to this. Not my usual sort of music, but rather good. Quite a retro feel to it. The mushed low grade sound was good, but I wonder if something could be done to lift the vocals out by mixing them for a touch more brightness. I'd love to hear a really simple guitar solo cut through at some point on a cheap amp cranked up fit to explode. Might provide the right way to close the piece. A short simple solo and crashing chord howling out at the end might do it. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your comments. And thanks for introducing me to your work.
