Hey all, I'm kind of in a learning slump at the moment. I really want constructive criticism to better my guitar playing. I've been playing for a little over 2 years. Ignore the other stuff on the soundcloud. Go ahead and stop after 2:50 on the first one. I already know I lack confidence.

i've heard worse. you shouldn't think of yourself as a crappy player - it might help if you played because you love playing and didn't worry about how good you were or how good you feel you should be.

i always find that trying to play in a style i don't usually play in gets me out of a slump. alternate tunings are the fastest way i know of to do that. try DADGAD and see what you can come up with.

may i ask what kind of guitar that is?

I just looked in my Oxford English Dictionary and under "Acoustic Guitar", there was your Avatar and an email address!

Not bad man...I think you show great potential! It's all about practice...I pretty much practice at least an hour a day....you'll def see improvements.
Here's some more, an original and a cover. It's a cort guitar. I'm using medium elixir strings on it.

Second is the cover.

You see, I play in odd tunings all the time, I use capos all the time. My favorite tuning has to be open E or what ever EBBF#BE is(im guessing open b). I play in Standard D, C#, DADGBD. I play a lot of neil youngs music, along with Rush, Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater... all that stuff. Bluegrass in the mix as well. It's just, I feel like my creativity is at a limit right now, most specifically with my leads. I can do alright with chords, but my leads are -always- bluesy. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
