Looking great so far . What's the wings on the body made of? You only listed the center and the strips next to it haha

I'd like to see a build based from the '67 shape sometime, I always liked it's slightly smaller profile than the '58 but both are equally great designs.

I'm going to wild guess this and say, "Honduras Mahogany"...! or maybe (?)

The center piece has been stained, so that explains why it's darker.

Although the OP did say:
"Mahogany and curly maple laminated body".

Interesting haha, I've never worked with raw mahogany before so I wouldn't know. My builds (and like 90% of my woodworking projects) have been based around black walnut and cherry since my family has an seemingly infinite supply of it in all widths/thicknesses.

Any ideas for the fretboard, or electronics/hardware?

Decided to throw on a BRAZILLIAN ROSEWOOD Veneer on the front
The color sucks in the pic. It has a much more rich color in person.
My good man, situations like these, are precisely the reason that on the eight day, man created photoshop...

I couldn't help but notice you construct your own neck blanks. Do you have machinery to help finish them off, or is it just plain old hard work, talent, and perseverance? (Not that I think it isn't hard work even with some mechanical assistance).

(BTW, I'd only consider PS cheating, if t were used to make something look better than life).

Haven't seen a Lawrence headstock on a Flying V before haha, it looks pretty good with it actually. Personally I wouldn't had put a veneer on it since you took the time to do a nice looking laminated body, but the rosewood veneer does look good with it.

I'm feeling an... oil finish?

Annnnnnnd.... this one goes in the scrap pile. Just ruined it. Drilled through teh back and missed teh control cavity, while drilling the wire channel. and this my friends, is why I hate making guitars.
Oh stop. You know it's at least a love hate relationship....

If I had that much time and money and time invested in it, I think I'd buy a plug cutter, or turn some rosewood dowels, finish it up, and give somebody a deal on iit as a second, or keep it for practice.. Face it, (pun intended), you said the hole's in the back.

I know about perfectionism. I suffer a we bit from it myself. Trust me, it would be perfect to a young, underfunded, aspiring shredder
